About The Aandaal Project
The Aandaal Project CIC is a UK Community Interest Company registered in England and Wales, dedicated to preserving 4,000 years of Tamil and South Indian cultural heritage. It supports classical artists, temples, Gurus, ashrams and Tamil communities worldwide through the ANDAL Coin ecosystem and a planned heritage campus near Chennai, India. As a CIC, all assets are permanently locked for community benefit — profits cannot be extracted for private gain.
Yes. The Aandaal Project is a registered UK Community Interest Company (CIC) incorporated at Companies House in England and Wales, regulated by the Office of the Regulator of Community Interest Companies. The asset lock ensures all assets are protected for Tamil community benefit. No payment is required to create a free account or receive free ANDAL Coins. The site is secured with SSL encryption.
The vision is a Tamil Heritage Cultural Campus near Chennai — a flagship destination inspired by Kothai / Aandaal and the Tamil spiritual and artistic tradition, sometimes described as a Tamil Heritage Disneyland. It will honour India's civilisational legacy through architecture, music, dance, literature and lived experience, while providing livelihoods for artists, care for elders, and heritage tourism for the global Tamil diaspora and international visitors.
ANDAL Coins
ANDAL Coins are a community utility token on the Stellar blockchain network. They enable 150 million Tamil and South Indian diaspora members globally to participate in and fund Tamil heritage preservation, artist livelihoods and community services. They are not a cryptocurrency for trading or speculation — they are a community participation mechanism and a symbol of cultural commitment.
The first one million supporters who create a free account on andal.io receive 100 ANDAL Coins free as a reward for minting and donating 1,000 ANDAL Coins to the Tamil heritage pool. You only need a mobile number and a password. After the first million supporters, the free reward reduces to just 10 coins permanently — so acting early matters. Visit andal.io to create your account now.
Stellar is a public blockchain known for fast, low-cost, energy-efficient transactions. It is well-suited for community and cultural tokens rather than high-frequency trading. All ANDAL Coin issuance and distribution is publicly verifiable on the Stellar blockchain, providing full transparency to supporters, donors and investors.
Tamil Elder Care & Diaspora Benefits
Tamil elders in the UK who are over state pension age (currently 66, rising to 67 by 2028) may be entitled to the New State Pension (£241.30 per week in 2026), Pension Credit (tops up income for those on lower incomes), Attendance Allowance (up to £108.55 per week for those with care needs), Winter Fuel Payment, free prescriptions, and free eye tests. Check eligibility at gov.uk or call the Pension Service on 0800 731 0469.
Yes. Attendance Allowance is a UK benefit for people over State Pension age who need help with personal care or supervision due to a physical or mental disability or illness. It is not means-tested — savings and income do not affect eligibility. In 2026 the lower rate is £72.65 per week and the higher rate is £108.55 per week. Tamil elders do not need to have a carer to claim. Apply through the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) at gov.uk.
Palliative care at home provides symptom relief, comfort and support to people with serious or chronic illnesses, enabling them to remain at home rather than in hospital. In the UK, Tamil elders can access palliative care at home through their GP, NHS community nursing teams, local hospice outreach services or by contacting Hospice UK. The NHS provides palliative care free of charge. The Aandaal Project CIC provides guidance and community support on palliative care access for Tamil diaspora families.
Yes, The Aandaal Project CIC plans to provide or facilitate subsidised or low-cost air travel services for Tamil and Indian diaspora members, funded from trading surpluses, as part of the Aandaal travel network being developed. This will enable Tamil diaspora members to visit heritage sites, temples and the Chennai campus at reduced cost. Details will be announced on andal.io as the travel network is formalised.
Classical Arts & Artist Support
The Aandaal Project supports all South Indian and nationally recognised Indian classical and folk art forms, including Bharatanatyam, Kuchipudi, Mohiniyattam, Odissi, Yakshagana, Therukoothu, Carnatic music (vocal and instrumental), nadaswaram, Hindustani classical music, Kathak and all forms recognised by the Sangeet Natak Akademi. Artists from Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Odisha and neighbouring states are all included. Heritage craftspeople — sculptors, weavers, puppeteers, painters — are also supported.
Artists, musicians, dancers, temple priests, heritage craftspeople and other guardians of Tamil and South Indian heritage can register on andal.io by creating a free account with just a mobile number and password. Once registered, artists are featured on the Artist Pillar, receive community visibility, and become eligible for ANDAL Coin support and future welfare programmes including artist housing and residencies at the Chennai campus.
Temples, Gurus & Spiritual Networks
The Aandaal Project works with Tamil Hindu temples, ashrams, Gurus and Spiritual Networks (GSN) registered on andal.io. This includes temples across Tamil Nadu — Meenakshi Amman Temple (Madurai), Kapaleeshwarar Temple (Chennai), Brihadeeswarar Temple (Thanjavur) and many others — as well as UK Tamil temples and global diaspora institutions. Temples and spiritual organisations can register on andal.io to receive community support and eventual charitable distributions through the CIC's asset-locked structure.
Investment & CIC Structure
A CIC is a special type of UK limited company for social enterprises. Its key feature is the asset lock — profits cannot be extracted for private gain and must be used for the community purpose stated in the CIC's registration. This means that if The Aandaal Project ever closes, all remaining assets pass to NHS Charities Together (the named Asset Lock Beneficiary), not to individuals. This protects the integrity of the mission and gives donors, supporters and investors confidence.
The Aandaal Project CIC invites values-aligned investors, Tamil diaspora philanthropists, and impact investors who share a long-term commitment to Tamil heritage. The company has 1,000,000 ordinary shares at £1 each. Founding investors can participate through the share structure, subject to the CIC dividend cap of 35% of distributable profits. Project-specific sponsors may also fund individual components such as artist housing or the palliative care wing. Visit andal.io/FUND.html to register interest.
